Isom (Ike) Benson
Isom Benson has been a volunteer with Food Link for many, many years. More than 12 years ago he began to volunteer with us and is still going strong. He and his lovely wife have been married for 55 years and have 2 daughters, 2 grandsons, 3 grand daughters, and 6 great grand daughters. Retired from the Air Force, he has called Annapolis his home for 30 years. Ike is always available to do regular and special pickups, make bags for shut-ins; the elderly and less fortunate who need help with their fragile incomes and are unable to physically come to the feeding programs. With the help of some of his friends, he picks up from donors several days a week. There will never be a way to estimate how many thousands pounds of food he has delivered or the many, many lives he has touched over more than a decade with us. I wish there were words to adequately give Ike the credit and acknowledgement he deserves. He is a wonderful ambassador for our program and most of all a good friend. Thank you Ike for all you do!
