Dave and Peggy Perry

Dave was born in Chicago, Illinois and Peggy in San Francisco, California. After graduating from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Il. Dave went westward with a friend. After a period of trying the tables and a system in Las Vegas, (which was successful for about 6 weeks) Dave ended up in San Francisco working at Wells Fargo Bank. That is where he met Peggy who was already working at the bank. The rest is history.
The Perry's have raised two wonderful daughters, Linda and Pam and they have two teen-age grandsons Scott and Taylor. Peggy is an avid gardener and enjoys collecting old, classic carnival glass. Dave loves anything nature related including birding and butter- flying (we don't know if that is a word) He has led tree id walks at the Patuxent Research Refuge in Anne Arundel County and established a butterfly garden at that site. Dave has been a longtime volunteer at the Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary in southern Anne Arundel County. There he has helped with birding projects and with building a boardwalk into the wetlands. For the last 5 years he has participated in a habitat study mapping out trees and plants at the Sanctuary. He is currently establishing a butterfly garden there also. He also enjoys collecting classic carnival glass with Peggy.
Their history with Food Link began many years ago, when Dave saw a request for volunteers through the RSVP program in the Capital newspaper. It was not long after Dave signed on that Peggy volunteered and they have been busy ever since.
They are responsible for a weekly regular pickup at Whole Foods and Grauls' in Cape St. Clair. They are always on sight on Fridays to assist with the Produce Program at the Farmers Market. In addition they have done a myriad of other interesting activities as well. For many years they have given their time to our yearly fundraiser the Blue Jean Bash. From helping pick up clothes from H.O.P.E Inc., picking organic veggies on the Eastern shore, playing Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus with the kids from Severn School by delivering gifts to children in need, meeting the YP boats at the seawall to pick up food donations, and delivering a carload of teddy bears ( this is Peggy's favorite). She was quite a sight at the stoplights, with a car stuffed full of bears of all sizes. This a just a few of the ways they have helped over their many years with Food Link.
Food Link is truly fortunate to be able to call this wonderful couple our friends. The contribution they make and the help they have given to our neighbors in need is immeasurable. It is truly a joy to work with them! Thank you for all you do!
