Al Offer

Volunteer Albert Offer is someone who is always available and willing to help Food Link reach out to the community. Just last week I filled up his big black truck with food to deliver to an elderly couple that are disabled and have no transportation. He has done this over the years countless times, helping and serving our neighbors in need.

First a little background on this special guy. Al was born in Davidsonville, Maryland and has two sons, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoys hunting and fishing.

For over 10 years Al has been volunteering for Food Link in various ways. He and Ike Benson sometimes work as a team, picking up from various grocery stores, the navy commissary and the Naval Academy Mess Hall. I know Al has personally delivered thousands of pounds of nutritious foods throughout the county to churches, feeding programs, shelters and treatment centers. When asked what he likes best about volunteering with us, he says he enjoys "working with the people and meeting new people."

Without a doubt, Al is irreplaceable in my lineup of volunteers, always willing to go the extra mile whenever he is needed. His willingness to serve others, always ready to lend a helping hand, Al truly makes a difference in the lives of so many. I can't imagine Food Link without him. Not only is he a valuable asset to Food Link, but a kind, caring person and a good friend as well. Thanks Al!
